Our
technology integration workshops for teachers are designed and shared with the
following philosophies and goals in mind:
- Get participants working on the computer as soon as possible.
- Get
participants talking and collaborating as soon as possible.
- Try
to include unexpected elements via challenges on a regular basis, to create a
constructive sense of challenging immediacy.
- Present
the agenda and workshop activities as being differentiated based on current
participant knowledge, skills and needs. Then differentiate / customize
activities as appropriate!
- Encourage
fun, creativity, and laughter. Consider each workshop like a digital
"ropes course," designed with stations, challenges, partners, group
work, and individual work. A key goal is learning to work together safely and
effectively.
- Minimize
direct instruction.
- Maximize
experiential learning for maximum impact/benefits.
- If
you break it or equipment gets lost, don’t contact us! (It’s yours or your
school district’s)

Online applications are used for Celebrate Oklahoma Voices workshops, using Google Forms. Participants from each hosting site / school are required to complete the online registration form at least two weeks prior to the start of the workshop. IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE IN THE WORKSHOP (seats are available not taken by the hosting school) then individual teachers can apply to participate. The cost to attend a COV phase 1 workshop is $520 per person. (This is equivalent to per-educator costs for hosting organizations. See this FAQ for details.) This cost includes the "digital backpack" equipment. To sign up: - Complete our online "COV Workshop Registration Inquiry" form, indicating the date and location you want to attend. In your message indicate how many spots you would like to reserve.
- Complete the online registration form which Storychasers will provide to you via email. Each participant must submit the form to register.
- Payment of $520 per person is due on or before day 1 of the workshop. Purchase orders and checks can be mailed in advance. On day 1 of the workshop, participants NOT from the hosting school / organization must provide a check or purchase order for the full amount of the workshop fee.
Note all COV workshops do not have open enrollment for individual educators. If organizational workshops are not full (with 25 participants) some slots may be available for individual applications. Contact our administrative assistant to confirm if seats are available for the session you want to attend. |
